Consistent service for books

I've been using Everand, and before that Scribd, for a while now for my ebooks and academic journals. This latest subscription renewal went as smoothly as always. I mainly use it for business books and research papers, and the selection is consistently good. I often find the full versions of the books I need, which is great for my work. Compared to my very first experience years ago, the app has definitely improved, it's more stable now. My only minor complaint is that sometimes the search function could be a bit more precise when looking for very specific niche documents. Still, it's a reliable source for content.

Consistent content, good value

I've been using Everand for a while now, back when it was still Scribd. This last month I listened to 'The Midnight Library' audiobook and read a few travel guides. It's always reliable. The library updates regularly, and I can usually find what I'm looking for. It just works, every time.

Good content, minor app issue

I signed up for the 60 day free trial to check out their audiobook selection, mostly for true crime audiobooks. The library is pretty extensive, found a few I'd been wanting to listen to. The app itself is fairly easy to navigate on my phone. My one complaint is that sometimes the audiobook playback would just stop randomly, and I'd have to restart the app. It wasn't often, but a little annoying when it happened. Overall, a good service for the price.

Easy to use, great selection

Signed up for the free trial. Listened to 'Project Hail Mary'. Loved it. Good app, easy to find books. Will probably keep my subscription.

Good library, some issues

I signed up for the annual subscription during a Black Friday deal. The process was straightforward, and I immediately started reading a few non-fiction books. The app interface is decent, and I like the offline download feature for my commute. However, one time I tried to access an academic journal, and it kept buffering, which was frustrating. Customer support responded to my email after about 36 hours, and the issue eventually resolved itself, but it was a slight hiccup. Overall, the content quality and selection are strong for the price.

Decent library, some limitations

I got the 30-day free trial for Everand to see if it could replace my other services. The sign-up process was straightforward, just entered my info and got access right away. I specifically looked for true crime audiobooks and found a good number of options, including some I hadn't seen elsewhere. The app itself worked well for downloading books for offline reading, which was a must for my commute. I also checked out a few magazines, and they loaded quickly. Customer service wasn't needed, so I can't comment there. My only real gripe is that sometimes popular titles seem to have a 'wait' period, even though it's a subscription service. It's not unlimited access for everything, all the time, which was a bit of a surprise after reading their FAQs.

My go-to for reading!

Oh my goodness, Everand is amazing! I just finished 'Circe' and started a biography. The selection is incredible, truly something for everyone. I love how I can switch between ebooks and audiobooks seamlessly. I'm telling all my friends about it, they have to try it! I'm definitely staying subscribed, worth every penny!

Good content, minor app issues

I signed up for the free trial of Everand to check out their audiobook selection. I found a few non-fiction books I wanted to listen to, and the quality was generally good. The app was easy enough to navigate for finding content. I had one small issue with an audiobook stopping unexpectedly once, but it was easily fixed by restarting the app. Overall, a solid service for the price.

If I sign up for Everand, can I download books for offline reading? Like for a flight or something?

A Andrew Garcia 3 weeks ago
Yep, you can definitely download books and audiobooks for offline use in the app. Super handy for travel or when you know you won't have signal. Just make sure you do it beforehand.

O Olivia 3 weeks ago
Yeah, offline downloads work great. I always load up my phone before long trips. Just hit the download icon in the app.

how do the free trials work? i saw something about 30 days but also 60 days. is there a trick to get the longer one?

E Emma 1 month ago
Usually, the 60-day trials are specific promotions, like through a referral link or sometimes a credit card offer. The standard one is 30 days. Keep an eye out for those special links, they pop up now and then.

I got a 60-day one through a friend's referral link last year. Just depends on what offers are active. Check their site or maybe some deal aggregators.

Does Everand have a student discount? I can't find clear info on their site about it.

K Katie Lewis 1 month ago
I remember seeing something about it during 'back to school' season, but I don't think it's a permanent, year-round thing like some other services. You might need to check around those times.

L Linda Sanchez 4 weeks ago
They've had student offers before, usually tied to specific promotions. Not a constant feature, unfortunately. Keep an eye on their promo pages or sign up for their emails.

Hey, anyone know if Everand is actually legit? Like, are the books full versions or just excerpts?

S Sam Rivera 1 week ago
Yeah, it's legit. Scribd launched it. All the books I've read on there were full versions, not partials. It's basically an updated version of what Scribd used to offer for books and audio.

M Megan H. 1 week ago
Totally legit. Been using it for months. Never seen an excerpt passed off as a full book. They've got a huge library.

Is it possible to read Everand books on a regular Kindle e-reader? Or is it only for tablets and phones?

M Matt Smith 1 month ago
Nope, sadly not on a standard Kindle. You need their app, so it's for phones, tablets, or even via a web browser on a computer. Kinda a bummer if you prefer e-ink.
4
B Brandon Flores 1 month ago
Definitely not Kindle compatible. I tried to figure it out when I first signed up. It's mobile or web, not e-ink devices like a Paperwhite.

Thinking of trying Everand, but not sure about the 'unlimited' claim. Is it really unlimited listening and reading, or are there hidden limits after a while?

B Brittany D. 1 month ago
It's mostly unlimited, but sometimes if you're binging a lot of new releases or super popular stuff, they might 'suggest' other titles. It's not a hard limit, more like a nudge to explore. For most people, it feels unlimited though.

J Jacob 1 month ago
I've never hit a true limit myself. I listen to tons of audiobooks. It's pretty good, definitely more than Kindle Unlimited gives you.

Hey, thinking about signing up for the free trial but curious if it's really unlimited access? Like, can I binge audiobooks or do they have some kind of cap after a few listens?

T Tim H. 1 month ago
Nah, it's not truly unlimited in the same way an all-you-can-eat buffet is. They say it's 'unlimited access' but after a few popular or lengthy titles in a month, you might notice other premium stuff gets locked for a bit until your next billing cycle. Happened to me.
3
S Sam Rivera 1 month ago
I haven't hit a cap yet but I mostly read ebooks and magazines. My friend who only does audiobooks said she hit a limit on new releases pretty fast last month. I guess it depends on what you're using it for.

Compared to Audible, how does Everand stack up for audiobooks? Is it worth switching if I mostly listen to non-fiction?

J Jason Turner 1 month ago
Audible gives you credits for specific books you 'own' forever. Everand is more like a library subscription, you have access while subscribed. For non-fiction, Everand has a ton, and it's nice to just browse and try stuff without committing a credit. The selection is huge.
3
B Brian 1 month ago
I use both. Everand is great for exploring and if you read/listen a lot. Audible is better if you have specific books you want to keep forever. For sheer volume and variety, Everand often wins, especially since you don't 'buy' individual titles.
